dylan rocks
this big somnambytch was planted outside the armory this morning. no one knows why or from whence it came. all I know is it's pretty big and the soldiers have asked to borrow our fork lift.

chamber music
this guy gets around. he's hunchin' it out and he's got an array of dancing dolls to hypnotize you further down the path of wicked grooves.
backline
I am new to all this...so you say we were supposed to have a backline guy? hmmm...yeah, that might've been good.
start of things
this is how my day is progressing...i've got 10 guys building a deck inside a 30,000 sq. ft. bullding. just for kicks.

seat symmetry
Tara suggested this great shot. if you've ever ridden the LIRR, you are familiar with this tunnel view of seats.
Not S&M...
It's my wife's purse. But, it resembles some sort of nipple-ringy-harnessy type of construction. Either way, she says it's a fierce purse, and I must admit it is well constructud.

Super Jew
just last night my friend Doron was telling me that he once served Jackie Mason in a restaurant in Miami. otherwise, I haven't heard his name in years...ok, months.
today's idea: backpack-tache'
it's an attache that has back pack straps in a pocket. they make similar items, but none as an attache...I think? Will research...
So far, this one is ishy:
http://www.bulgebag.com/attache.html
This one is almost it:
http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7373172/c/3.html
This one would again be close if the back-pack straps WENT AWAY:
http://boblbeetoronto.com/Laptop%20Cases.htm
Unfortunately, no one so far seems to make a real attache that can be turned on its side and worn as a backpack. It seems as though once you add backpack straps, the shape of all attaches become utterly backpacky.
After much research, I am settling the matter with this bag that seems to the best reviewed, most travel worthy, but least businessy...we have moved away from attache and entered the world of durable globetrotter bags:

Oh wait, one more that nails it...oops, if your laptop is less than 13.5 inches wide:
Even though I am not a huge fan of Eagle Creek, this model seems to fit the bill:
And with a "No Matter What" Lifetime Warrantee, maybe this is the real deal.
Except for this comment:

"I bought the Eagle Creek Convertabrief, thinking I'd finally found the THE laptop bag with all the features that I had been looking for and planned on using it "several times a day." It was professional-looking, lightweight and had versatile carrying options, even though it offered less space than what I'd hoped to find. Well, the kicker was the backpack straps. They cut into my shoulders in such a way, once I'd put in the laptop and all my stuff, that I knew we could never live and travel together. It's a great-looking, well-made bag that really prefers to be carried as a brief most of the time. I am still looking for the perfect bag."

foggy day
it may look like fire and brimstone beyond that thar garage, but it's just some good ol' Track & Field. that's the view from our bedroom skylight.

Satori...out and about
she's almost giving me an "I will rock you." today she was in her British onesie and quite dashing. we ate, we drank, we laughed, we cried, we burped, she napped exclusively. Groidian Assembly week 2 was a success and we are on our way to a fab coffee table book. yeeeeaayaaah. that's Lil' Jon for "excellent." Satori is 42 days old today.
Rush to the train...
this happens every morning. today was more of a rush than we've had in a while. finishing my coffee in my jammies at 8:24, out the door @ 8:35. Teeth brushed, fully clothed, lunch packed, pockets filled, train pass adorned. being a nobody takes so much work, I can't imagine what being a somebody must be like. and, when I say somebody, I mean sobody that doesn't have to haul butt to get to an office and sit their tail in a rolly chair facing a computer for 8 hours. it sounds dramatic, but sometimes I envy people that had some of my starting jobs as back room stockboy, a barista, a deli slicer, a busboy, a waiter...sometimes i'm glad that i'm not doing that stuff. I want a pony. not really. who needs a pony...do you see that fluff of doggie goodness on my wife's lap? that's good stuff right there. anyway, looking into an office window from the train, I see a guy with a coffee mug in front of the computer. I wonder what time he goes home? does the view of the trains drive him crazy or break up the monotony? is he happy he has a window? I would be. did he fall in loved with a woman on the train one day and now every morning he looks to see if she's there? but she's not, because she was visiting guests from out of town and now he will be sitting at that window until he retires wondering where she is each moment? poor guy. truth is, he probably goes home at 4:30, get's to spend time with his wife and kids, and makes 100K a year. that's a standard that everyone can thrive for in this area. a nice mid-line life. i'd buy in...can you retire on that?

today's idea: popcorn power
harnessing the power of popcorn. If we could harness the power of a billion popping kernels, we'd really have something.
Forest Hills...
...is beautiful. If you like the tudor style...that English countryside village...that Swiss winter lodge...that Bavarian chocolate... I don't even know what I'm saying. I used to live in Forest Hills. It's a delightful place to be well off and raise kids. if you're single and broke, it can be a bummer. It's still pretty to look at from the train. It has the nicest Long Island Railroad Station view of any stop, hands down.

50 St. 1/3 Station
I am going to now start submitting an idea of the day. Regardless of what picture it might be attached to. Sorry Continuity freaks. Some of the ideas will be old, some will be new. If you find a link that relates...Link It!
today's idea: eco-gym
Eco-Gym. Bikes, treadmills, even weight machine systems could be set
up to a converter that could capture expelled energy and reabsorb it
to power the gym's lights and AC. I know it's more complicated than
that, with each machine needing it's own flux-capacitor or what have
you (I'm no engineer, ya dig), but wouldn't it be great that either
this could be a city run incentive where free memberships are given to
these gyms or local gyms could set it up and keep track of you wattage
output and this would directly come off the price of your membership!
Imagine those creepy, skinny ladies that ramp up those treadmills all
day! They would max out and get some bang back for their bucking...or
buckling, however much their hips can take...

Passing Train
This really is what a passing train looks like when you're on a train going in the opposite direction.
Ring Buddah
This little guy was part of a Secret Santa gift from 2002. I wonder if Dani Wylie ever thought I would keep my wedding ring on his head. Much less travel around the country with him for that very purpose. He's almost completed his 3rd year as official Memi ring bearer and no signs of giving up. He's got great posture.

Crosby on the edge...
It's really on the ledge. That's our Cape window in our bedroom which has become crosby's new chill spot. Gato? No, perro. Gato? No! Perrrrro!
